## Biography

Richard Preddy (born Ian Preddy, 3 September 1966 – 7 July 2020) was a British comedy writer and performer. He maintained a long-term writing partnership with Gary Howe from 1987 and contributed to numerous sketch shows and sitcoms.

His credits include *Smack the Pony* (1999–2003), *Green Wing* (2004–07), *The Fast Show* (1994–2000) and *Harry Enfield and Chums* (1994–97). He also wrote for children's animation, including episodes of *The Amazing World of Gumball* (2015). Preddy received a Writers' Guild of Great Britain Award in 1996 and an RTS Award nomination in 2007.
