## Biography

Richard Signy is a British television director. He studied at the University of Manchester and joined Granada Television in the late 1980s. His first directing credit was the children's series *Tickle on the Tum*.

Signy has directed numerous episodes of long-running British series, including 43 episodes of *Coronation Street* (1990–1996), as well as work on *Death in Paradise* (2014–2021), *The Bill*, *Casualty*, *Holby City*, *Doctors*, *Silent Witness* and *Brassic*. He has directed multiple episodes of *The Chelsea Detective* (2022–). He received a BAFTA nomination for his direction of the 1998 mini-series *Undercover Heart*.
