Richard Tyson is an American actor born on 13 February 1961 in Mobile, Alabama. He holds a Master of Fine Arts degree from Cornell University, where he also taught acting.

Tyson began his screen career with a guest role in the television series *Moonlighting* (1985) and made his film debut in *Three O'Clock High* (1987). He is known for roles including Buddy Revell in *Three O'Clock High*, Cullen Crisp Sr. in *Kindergarten Cop* (1990), Detective Krevoy in *There's Something About Mary* (1998), Robert the Fox in *Battlefield Earth* (2000), and Busch in *Black Hawk Down* (2001). He starred in the series *Hardball* (1989–1990) and has appeared in numerous other films and television productions.
