Richard Whorf (4 June 1906 – 14 December 1966) was an American actor and director. Born in Winthrop, Massachusetts, he began his career on the Boston stage as a teenager and moved to Broadway at the age of 21. He appeared in several films in the early 1940s, including as Sam Harris opposite James Cagney in *Yankee Doodle Dandy* (1942).

Whorf began directing feature films in the mid-1940s, with credits including *Blonde Fever* (1945). He later directed extensively for television in the 1950s and 1960s, including episodes of *Gunsmoke*, *Perry Mason*, *Rawhide*, *Have Gun – Will Travel*, *The Wild Wild West*, the entire second season of *My Three Sons* and 67 episodes of *The Beverly Hillbillies*. He was also active as a stage director and designer, winning a Tony Award for costume design for the 1954 Broadway production of *Ondine*.
