## Biography

Richmond Harding (1923–2010) was a British television director and producer. After service in the Second World War, he worked as an assistant director on films including *Scott of the Antarctic* (1948), *Passport to Pimlico* (1949) and *Whisky Galore!* (1949).

He directed seven episodes of the series *The Avengers* in 1962 and 1963, and is credited with the idea of dressing Honor Blackman as Catherine Gale in black leather. Harding also produced and directed episodes of *The World of Tim Frazer* (1961) and later directed episodes of *Coronation Street* (12 episodes in 1965), *Z Cars*, *Swizzlewick* and other series.
