## Biography

Rick Heinrichs is an American production designer, art director and visual effects artist. He has worked on numerous feature films and television series, with credits including production design on *Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery* (2025) and *Glass Onion* (2022).

He graduated from Boston University with a BFA in fine arts in 1976 and attended the California Institute of the Arts. Heinrichs began his career in visual effects and animation at Disney, where he met Tim Burton; the two became frequent collaborators on projects such as *Edward Scissorhands* (1990), *Batman Returns* (1992) and *Sleepy Hollow* (1999).

Heinrichs won the Academy Award for Best Art Direction for *Sleepy Hollow* and received further Oscar nominations for *Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events* (2004) and *Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest* (2006). Other notable production design credits include *Fargo* (1996), *The Big Lebowski* (1998), *Captain America: The First Avenger* (2011) and *Star Wars: The Last Jedi* (2017).
