## Biography

Rick Wallace (born Richard C. Wallace) is an American television director and producer. He began his career as an assistant director on the feature film *Halloween* (1978) and served as first assistant director on the series *Hill Street Blues* (1981–1983) before directing ten episodes of the show between 1983 and 1985.

Wallace is known for directing episodes of numerous series, including *L.A. Law*, *NYPD Blue*, *The Pretender*, *Law & Order*, *Law & Order: Special Victims Unit*, *Law & Order: Criminal Intent*, *Smallville*, *Las Vegas*, *The Closer* and *Major Crimes*. He also worked extensively as a producer on *L.A. Law* (1988–1993) and *The Closer* (2005–2012). He received three Primetime Emmy Awards for outstanding drama series for his producing work on *L.A. Law* and a Directors Guild of America Award for an episode of *Hill Street Blues*.
