Rift Fournier was an American television writer, screenwriter and producer. He was born on 16 May 1936 in Wichita, Kansas, and died on 6 October 2013 in St. Louis, Missouri.

Fournier began acting and screenwriting at the Omaha Community Playhouse at the age of 13. He co-produced the initial syndicated version of *The Mike Douglas Show* in 1963. He wrote episodes of series including *Kojak* (1973), *Baretta* (1975), *Charlie's Angels* (1976), *Highway to Heaven* (1984), *Matlock* (1986) and *NYPD Blue* (1993). He also wrote, directed and produced the Emmy-winning children's series *Go!* (1973–76) for NBC.
