Ringo Starr is an English actor and musician. Born Richard Starkey on 7 July 1940 in Liverpool, he gained fame as the drummer for the Beatles.

He appeared as himself in the Beatles films *A Hard Day's Night* (1964), *Help!* (1965) and *Let It Be* (1970), with a cameo in the animated feature *Yellow Submarine* (1968). Other film roles include *Candy* (1968), *The Magic Christian* (1969), *That'll Be the Day* (1973), *Lisztomania* (1975) and *Caveman* (1981). He has also narrated the children's series *Thomas the Tank Engine & Friends* (1984–1986) and appeared in *Monty Python's Flying Circus*.
