## Biography

Rita Gam was an American actress. Born Rita Eleanore MacKay in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, she began her career on Broadway in the 1940s and made her film debut in *The Thief* (1952). She appeared in films including *King of Kings* (1961) as Herodias, *Hannibal* (1959) and *Shoot Out* (1971).

Gam played Trina in *Klute* (1971). She also worked in television, including episodes of *The Rockford Files* and *Tales of the Unexpected*, and later produced documentaries. She shared the Silver Bear for Best Actress at the 1962 Berlin International Film Festival for *No Exit*. She died in Los Angeles in 2016.
