Rob Doherty is a television writer, producer and showrunner. He created the CBS series *Elementary* (2012–2019), a modern adaptation of Sherlock Holmes starring Jonny Lee Miller and Lucy Liu, on which he also served as executive producer and showrunner.

Doherty previously worked as a writer and producer on series including *Medium* and *Star Trek: Voyager*. He created the ABC crime drama *R.J. Decker* (2026), inspired by Carl Hiaasen's novel *Double Whammy*, and serves as writer, showrunner and executive producer.
