## Biography

Robert B. Sherman was an American songwriter and composer. With his brother Richard M. Sherman, he formed the Sherman Brothers songwriting team, which contributed scores and songs to numerous films, primarily for Walt Disney Productions.

Their work includes the original music and lyrics for *Mary Poppins* (1964), *The Jungle Book* (1967), *Chitty Chitty Bang Bang* (1968), *The Aristocats* (1970) and *Bedknobs and Broomsticks* (1971). They also wrote "It's a Small World (After All)" for the 1964 New York World's Fair. Sherman was born in New York City in 1925 and died in London in 2012.
