## Biography

Robert Belcher (1910–2000) was an American film and television editor. He received his first credited editor role on the William Wyler-directed drama *Friendly Persuasion* (1956), working alongside Robert Swink and Edward A. Biery.

Belcher had previously served as assistant editor on *Roman Holiday* (1953). He later edited the western *The Big Country* (1958), again for Wyler. His other credits include feature films such as *Ace Eli and Rodger of the Skies* (1973) and *Hex* (1973), as well as numerous television series including *The Silent Service* (1957) and *Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea* (1964–1966).
