## Biography

Robert Blackman is an American costume designer. He holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Texas and a Master of Fine Arts from the Yale School of Drama. He began his career in theatre before moving into film and television.

Blackman joined the production of *Star Trek: The Next Generation* for its third season in 1989 and remained the lead costume designer for *Deep Space Nine*, *Voyager* and *Enterprise*, as well as the films *Star Trek Generations* (1994) and *Star Trek: First Contact* (1996), for which he designed the Starfleet uniforms later used in *Insurrection* and *Nemesis*. His *Star Trek* work earned two Primetime Emmy Awards and eight further nominations. He later designed costumes for *Pushing Daisies*, winning a third Emmy, and for series including *Rizzoli & Isles*.
