## Biography

Robert Bloch was an American writer of crime, horror and science fiction. He is best known for his 1959 novel *Psycho*, the basis for Alfred Hitchcock’s 1960 film of the same name.

Bloch wrote three episodes for the original *Star Trek* series: “What Are Little Girls Made Of?” (1966), “Catspaw” (1967) and “Wolf in the Fold” (1967). He contributed scripts and stories to *Alfred Hitchcock Presents*, *Thriller* and other television series, and published numerous short stories and novels.

Bloch received a Hugo Award for his short story “That Hell-Bound Train”. He died in Los Angeles on 23 September 1994.
