## Biography

Robert Boon (26 October 1916 – 13 January 2015) was a Dutch-born American actor. Born in Haarlem, the Netherlands, he volunteered for military service during the Second World War, trained in the United States and Australia, and took part in the Borneo campaign before returning to the Netherlands. He relocated to the United States in the late 1940s, settling in Los Angeles in 1947 after initial work in New York radio and live television.

Boon made his film debut in *Berlin Express* (1948) and appeared in dozens of films and television productions. His credits include an uncredited role as an SS Man in *The Diary of Anne Frank* (1959), Professor Winkelmann (uncredited) in *Torn Curtain* (1966), Anders Brockman in *Queen of Blood* (1966) and guest roles in *The Twilight Zone* (1961 and 1963). He also worked in theatre and served for many years on the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences' Best Foreign Language Film nominating committee.
