## Biography

Robert Cochran, also credited as Bob Cochran, is an American television writer and producer. He co-created the series *24* (2001) with Joel Surnow, serving as writer, story and teleplay contributor, and executive producer across its run.

Earlier, Cochran and Surnow created and produced the spy series *La Femme Nikita* (1997). His other writing credits include episodes of *JAG* (1995), *L.A. Law* (1986), *Falcon Crest* (1981) and *The Commish*. He graduated from Stanford Law School in 1974 and began his television career after working as a lawyer and management consultant.

Cochran received a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Writing for a Drama Series for the *24* pilot episode in 2002, and shared in further Emmy and other awards for the series.
