## Biography

Robert Cooper (also credited as Robert George Cooper) is a British television and film producer. Born in West Bromwich, Staffordshire, he studied English and Drama at the University of Hull before beginning his career in BBC radio production in the early 1970s.

He produced the 1990 film *Truly, Madly, Deeply*, written and directed by Anthony Minghella. Cooper later served as Head of Drama at BBC Northern Ireland, where he oversaw the development of numerous television dramas. In 2003 he co-founded Great Meadow Productions with Kate Triggs, through which he produced further BBC and Channel 4 dramas including the 2012 adaptation *Room at the Top*.
