## Biography

Robert Doherty is an American television writer, producer and showrunner, also credited as Rob Doherty. He created, wrote for and served as showrunner on the CBS series *Elementary* (2012–2019), a modern adaptation of Sherlock Holmes starring Jonny Lee Miller and Lucy Liu.

Earlier in his career he worked as a writer and producer on series including *Star Trek: Voyager* (1995–2001), *Dark Angel* (2000), *Tru Calling* (2003), *Point Pleasant* (2005) and *Medium* (2005–2011), where he was an executive producer. He created and wrote the ABC series *R.J. Decker* (2026), inspired by Carl Hiaasen's novel *Double Whammy*.

Doherty graduated from Colgate University in 1996 with a degree in creative writing.
