Robert F. Simon (2 December 1908 – 29 November 1992) was an American character actor. Born in Mansfield, Ohio, he began acting with the Mansfield Community Players while working as a clerk, later performing with the Cleveland Playhouse. He appeared on Broadway in productions including Clifford Odets's *Clash by Night* and succeeded Lee J. Cobb as Willy Loman in *Death of a Salesman* (1949).

Simon moved to Los Angeles in 1954 and worked in film and television until 1985. He played Dr. Norton in *Bigger Than Life* (1956) and appeared in *The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance* (1962). On television he had recurring or guest roles in series including *Bewitched* (as Frank Stephens), *M*A*S*H* (as General Maynard M. Mitchell), *Columbo*, *The Twilight Zone* and *Bonanza*. He was married to Barbara Them from 1940 until her death in 1974; they had four children.
