Robert Gunner, born Robert Wolfmayer, was an American actor. He appeared as Lieutenant John Landon in the 1968 film *Planet of the Apes*.

Gunner was born on 27 July 1931 in North Plainfield, New Jersey. Military service in the US Navy during the Korean War led to his first television appearance on a weekly Navy programme broadcast from the Brooklyn Navy Yard. He later studied acting with Sanford Meisner at the Neighbourhood Playhouse in New York.

He worked as a professional model, appearing as the 'Marlboro Man' in television commercials and magazine advertisements and as the 'Quiet Man' in Ford commercials. His other screen credits include an uncredited role in *Our Man Flint* (1966), a detective in *The Green Hornet* (1966) and an uncredited part in *Caprice* (1967). He died on 18 December 2001 in Los Angeles, California.
