Robert Harmon is an American film and television director. Born in 1953 in White Plains, New York, he attended film school at Boston University and worked as a still photographer before making his directorial debut with the short film *China Lake* (1983).

He is best known for the horror film *The Hitcher* (1986). His other feature credits include *Eyes of an Angel* (1991), *Nowhere to Run* (1993), *They* (2002) and *Highwaymen* (2004). On television he has directed episodes of *Homicide: Life on the Street* (1993) and *Blue Bloods*, as well as multiple *Jesse Stone* television films starring Tom Selleck, beginning with *Stone Cold* (2005).

Harmon received two Directors Guild of America Award nominations.
