Born in New York City on 12 April 1893, he began working at the Biograph studio around 1907 as a gofer and bit player before taking on larger roles. He appeared in scores of films, most notably those directed by D.W. Griffith. Harron played Tod in *The Birth of a Nation* (1915) and The Boy in the modern story of *Intolerance* (1916). Other credits include *True Heart Susie* (1919) as William Jenkins. He was the older brother of actors John Harron and Mary Harron.
