## Biography

Robert Kent (born Douglas Blackley Jr.) was an American film actor. He began his career after working as a prizefighter and gaining stage experience, appearing in films from the mid-1930s under contract to studios including 20th Century Fox.

He specialised in leads in B-pictures, westerns and serials, with roles including appearances in *A Chump at Oxford* (1940), *The Phantom Creeps* (1939), *Who's Guilty?* (1945) and *The Phantom Rider* (1946). Later credits included a part in the television series *Adventures of Superman* (1952) and the role of Paul Unger in *The Country Girl* (1954). He also used the name Douglas Blackley for some performances.

Kent was married to actress Astrid Allwyn from 1937 to 1941. He died in Los Angeles in 1955.
