Robert Knights is a British film and television director. He directed episodes of the BBC sitcom *Dad's Army* (1968), the anthology series *Play for Today* (1970) and the crime drama *Public Eye* (1965).

His other television credits include episodes of *The Bill*, *A Touch of Frost*, *Waking the Dead* and *Monarch of the Glen*. He directed the feature film *The Dawning* (1988) and the Channel 4 miniseries *Porterhouse Blue* (1987). Knights has received three BAFTA television award nominations and an International Emmy for *Porterhouse Blue*.
