Robert L. Simpson (also credited as Robert Simpson) was an American film editor. Born in St. Louis, Missouri, he began his career at Paramount Pictures in 1935 and later joined 20th Century Fox, where he worked for more than three decades.

Over a career spanning more than 100 feature films, Simpson edited *The Grapes of Wrath* (1940), *Miracle on 34th Street* (1947), *The King and I* (1956) and *South Pacific* (1958). He collaborated with directors including John Ford, George Seaton and Walter Lang. He received an Academy Award nomination for Best Film Editing for *The Grapes of Wrath*.
