Robert L. Welch was an American film producer and writer. Born in Chicago in 1910, he worked primarily for Paramount Pictures in the late 1940s and early 1950s.

He produced a series of comedies starring Bob Hope, including *The Paleface* (1948), *Sorrowful Jones* (1949), *Top o' the Morning* (1949), *Fancy Pants* (1950), *Mr. Music* (1950), *The Lemon Drop Kid* (1951) and *Son of Paleface* (1952). He also received a writing credit on *Variety Girl* (1947) and co-wrote the screenplay for *Son of Paleface*.

Welch later produced episodes of television series such as *The Thin Man* and *The NBC Comedy Hour*. He died in Los Angeles in 1964.
