## Biography

Robert Modica was an American actor and acting teacher. He graduated from Adelphi College in 1957 with a degree in speech and was active in theatre there. He later taught acting in New York for over 70 years, including 25 years alongside Sanford Meisner at the Neighborhood Playhouse and nearly 50 years at his own studio in Carnegie Hall.

Modica appeared in films including *The Rain People* (1969) as Vinny Ravenna and *Love Story* (1970) as Dr. Addison. His television credits include episodes of *Kojak* (1975) and *The Equalizer* (1985–1989). He also acted in *Men of Respect* (1990) and *Fast Food Fast Women* (2000). Modica served in the US Marine Corps during the Korean War.
