Robert Picardo is an American actor born on 27 October 1953 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He studied drama at Yale University and made his Broadway debut in the comedy *Gemini* in 1977.

He is best known for playing the Emergency Medical Hologram, known as The Doctor, in the series *Star Trek: Voyager* (1995–2001) and reprising the role in *Star Trek: Starfleet Academy* (2026). Other television credits include Coach Cutlip in *The Wonder Years* (1988–1993), for which he received an Emmy nomination, Dr Dick Richards in *China Beach* (1988–1991), and Richard Woolsey in the *Stargate* franchise.

His film work includes voice roles in *Total Recall* (1990) and appearances in *Innerspace* (1987) and *Hail, Caesar!* (2016).
