## Biography

Robert Presnell Jr. (1914–1986) was an American screenwriter. Born in Chicago, he was the son of screenwriter Robert Presnell Sr. He began his career as a reporter for the Milwaukee Journal before writing fiction and magazine articles. In the late 1930s he wrote, produced and directed radio programmes in New York, including I Love a Mystery and The Orson Welles Show.

From the early 1950s he focused on screen and television writing. His film credits include the screenplays for *Man in the Attic* (1953), *A Life in the Balance* (1955), *Legend of the Lost* (1957) and *Let No Man Write My Epitaph* (1960). On television he contributed episodes to series including *The Twilight Zone* (teleplay for 'The Chaser', 1960), *McCloud*, *The Virginian* and *Rich Man, Poor Man, Book II*. He was married to actress Marsha Hunt from 1946 until his death in Sherman Oaks, California.
