## Biography

Robert Russell was an American screenwriter and playwright. He received story and screenplay credits on the 1943 comedy *The More the Merrier*, for which he was nominated for two Academy Awards. His other film credits include *The Well-Groomed Bride* (1946), *Come September* (1961) and *Walk Don't Run* (1966).

Russell graduated from the University of Southern California. During the Second World War he served in the Office of Strategic Services and received a Bronze Star. On Broadway he co-wrote the book for the musicals *Take Me Along* (1959) and *Flora the Red Menace* (1965). He also wrote more than thirty documentary, business and educational films.

He died in New York City on 11 February 1992.
