## Biography

Robert Sidney Mellette is an American writer, director and author. He began in television as a writer's assistant on *Xena: Warrior Princess* (1995–1997) and created the online series 'The Xena Scrolls' for Universal New Media, which became the basis for a 1997 episode of the show—the first intellectual property to move from the internet to television.

Mellette wrote and directed the independent film *Jacks or Better* (2000), which won the Best Screenplay award at Dances With Films. He has also worked as script coordinator on *Nutty Professor II: The Klumps* (2000) and *Blue Crush* (2002). Writing as R.S. Mellette, he is the author of the middle-grade novels *Billy Bobble Makes a Magic Wand* and its sequel, and the young adult novel *Kiya and the Morian Treasure*.
