## Biography

Robert Stevens (2 December 1920 – 7 August 1989) was an American television and film director and producer. He directed the pilot episode of *The Twilight Zone* (1959), 'Where Is Everybody?', as well as 'Walking Distance'.

Stevens was most active in the 1950s and 1960s on anthology series. He directed 44 episodes of *Alfred Hitchcock Presents* (1955–1961) and several of *The Alfred Hitchcock Hour* (1962–1965), and produced and directed over 100 episodes of *Suspense* (1949–1952). He also directed episodes of *Amazing Stories* (1985) and the feature film *Change of Mind* (1969). He won a Primetime Emmy Award for his work on *Alfred Hitchcock Presents*.
