## Biography

Robert Stromberg is an American production designer, visual effects artist and film director. He began his career as a matte painter and visual effects supervisor on television series including *Star Trek: The Next Generation* and *Star Trek: Voyager*, earning Emmy Awards for his work.

Stromberg served as co-production designer on James Cameron’s *Avatar* (2009), sharing an Academy Award for Best Production Design. He won a second Oscar for production design on Tim Burton’s *Alice in Wonderland* (2010). He made his directorial debut with the Disney film *Maleficent* (2014).
