He worked with director Preston Sturges on several productions, including *Sullivan's Travels* (1941) as Mr. LeBrand, and had roles in *The Adventures of Robin Hood* (1938) and *In a Lonely Place* (1950). His television work began in 1949 and continued until 1962.
