## Biography

Roberto Forza is an Italian cinematographer. Born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, in 1957 to Italian parents, he moved with his family to Turin in 1961. He trained as a mechanical engineer and later developed an interest in cinema through film clubs and courses in Turin. He began his career as a cameraman at RAI in Milan before working freelance in advertising, documentaries and short films.

Forza made his feature film debut as cinematographer in 1993 with *Punto di fuga*. He is known for his long collaboration with director Marco Tullio Giordana, beginning with *One Hundred Steps* (2000) and including *The Best of Youth* (2003), *When You Are Born You Cannot Hide Anymore* (2005), *Wild Blood* (2008), *Piazza Fontana: The Italian Conspiracy* (2012) and *At War for Love* (2016). He has also worked on films such as *The Cyclone* (1996), *The Mafia Kills Only in Summer* (2013) and *Escort in Love* (2011). Forza received David di Donatello nominations for best cinematography for *One Hundred Steps* and *Piazza Fontana: The Italian Conspiracy*.
