On stage, McLeavy played Stella Kowalski opposite Cate Blanchett in a 2009 Sydney Theatre Company production of *A Streetcar Named Desire*, directed by Liv Ullmann, which toured to the United States and earned her a Helen Hayes Award for Outstanding Supporting Performer. She also appeared in multiple seasons of the play *Holding the Man*.
