## Biography

Rod Cameron (born Nathan Roderick Cox) was a Canadian film and television actor. Born in Calgary, Alberta, on 7 December 1910, he began his career in the late 1930s as a stuntman and bit player for Paramount Pictures before gaining prominence in the 1940s.

He appeared in serials such as *G-Men vs. the Black Dragon* (1943) and *Secret Service in Darkest Africa* (1943), and in feature films including *Wake Island* (1942), *North West Mounted Police* (1940) and *Christmas in July* (1940). Cameron starred in numerous Westerns and later in television series including *City Detective* (1953–1955), *State Trooper* (1956–1959) and *Coronado 9* (1960–1961), with guest roles in series such as *Bonanza*, *Perry Mason* and *The Rockford Files*.

He died in Gainesville, Georgia, on 21 December 1983.
