## Biography

Rod E. Geiger (1915–2000) was an American film producer. While serving as a US soldier in Italy during the Second World War, he assisted with the production of Roberto Rossellini's *Rome, Open City* (1945) by obtaining film stock and later helped arrange its distribution in the United States.

He received a producer credit on Rossellini's *Paisan* (1946), for which he also contributed to the screenplay, and produced *Give Us This Day* (1949). Geiger later lived in Sweden, where he died in Tollarp.
