## Biography

Roger Blin (22 March 1907 – 20 January 1984) was a French actor and theatre director. He appeared in numerous films, including as The Poet in Jean Cocteau's *Orpheus* (1950), François in *Le Corbeau* (1943), and the voice of L'aveugle in *The King and the Mockingbird* (1980).

Blin staged the world premieres of Samuel Beckett's *Waiting for Godot* in 1953 and *Endgame* in 1957. He also directed the first performances of Jean Genet's *The Blacks* (1959) and *The Screens* (1961), and worked with Antonin Artaud earlier in his career.
