## Biography

Roger Ernest Jenkins (May 1931 – 21 December 2022) was a British theatre and television director. He was educated at Bristol Grammar School and St Catharine's College, Cambridge, where he read English. After leaving university he trained as a producer at BBC Radio before joining Associated-Rediffusion in 1955 as a staff director.

Jenkins left Associated-Rediffusion in 1960 to work freelance. His television credits include episodes of *The Avengers* (1961), *Z-Cars*, *Coronation Street*, *Poldark* (1977), *Secret Army* (1978) and *Howards' Way*. He also directed numerous stage productions and, through his company Hyperion Films, produced documentaries and instructional videos.
