## Biography

Roger Lanser is an Australian cinematographer. He began his career at the ABC TV drama department in 1976 as a clapper loader and later worked as a focus puller and camera operator on numerous Australian productions before going freelance in 1988.

Lanser has had a long association with director Kenneth Branagh, serving as director of photography on eight feature films including *Peter's Friends* (1992), *Much Ado About Nothing* (1993), *In the Bleak Midwinter* (1995) and *The Magic Flute* (2006). For the latter he received the ACS Gold Tripod and Cinematographer of the Year award.

His other credits include *Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries* (2012–2015) and its feature film spin-off *Miss Fisher and the Crypt of Tears* (2020), as well as Australian features such as *The Wog Boy* (2000), *Till Human Voices Wake Us* (2002), *Strange Bedfellows* (2004) and *Charlie & Boots* (2009).
