## Biography

Roger Spottiswoode is a Canadian-British film director, editor and writer. Born in Ottawa, Ontario, he entered the British film industry in the 1960s as a trainee editor, apprenticing under John Bloom, and later edited several films for Sam Peckinpah in the early 1970s.

He began directing in the early 1980s. His credits include *Terror Train* (1980), *Under Fire* (1983), *Shoot to Kill* (1988), *Turner & Hooch* (1989), *Air America* (1990) and *The 6th Day* (2000). He was part of the writing team for *48 Hrs.* (1982) and directed the James Bond film *Tomorrow Never Dies* (1997).
