## Biography

Roland Curram (1932–2025) was an English actor and author. He appeared in films including *Dunkirk* (1958) and *Darling* (1965), in which he played Malcolm, the gay photographer and travelling companion to Julie Christie’s character.

Curram trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art and worked in repertory theatre before building a career in film, television and stage. His television roles included Rupert Warner in the 1976 series *Bouquet of Barbed Wire* and Freddie Martin in the BBC soap *Eldorado* (1992–1993). He was married to actress Sheila Gish from 1964 to 1985; they had two daughters, actors Lou Gish and Kay Curram. Curram came out as gay in the early 1990s and later wrote several novels.
