## Biography

Roland Toutain (18 October 1905 – 16 October 1977) was a French actor and stuntman. He is best known for playing the aviator André Jurieux in Jean Renoir's *The Rules of the Game* (1939).

Toutain appeared in 55 films between 1924 and 1957. He first gained prominence in the title role of *The Mystery of the Yellow Room* (1930) and its sequel *The Perfume of the Lady in Black* (1931). Other credits include *Liliom* (1934). He was also a songwriter and hobby aviator.

Toutain was a friend of actor Jean Marais, who organised his funeral. He died in Argenteuil, France.
