## Biography

Rolfe Kent is an English film score composer. Born on 18 April 1963 in St Albans, Hertfordshire, he attended St Albans School and graduated with a BSc in psychology from the University of Leeds in 1986. He taught psychology at Leeds Polytechnic before moving to London to focus on film scoring, and later relocated to Los Angeles.

Kent is known for his scores for *Election* (1999), *Legally Blonde* (2001), *Freaky Friday* (2003), *Mean Girls* (2004), *Wedding Crashers* (2005), *Up in the Air* (2009) and *Downsizing* (2017). He composed the main title theme for the television series *Dexter*, for which he received an Emmy nomination. He was nominated for a Golden Globe for *Sideways* (2004) and received the Richard Kirk Award for career achievement in 2012.
