## Biography

Roman Vasyanov is a Russian cinematographer. Born in Moscow on 24 October 1980, he studied at the Gerasimov Institute of Cinematography (VGIK) in the workshop of Vadim Yusov and graduated in 2003. He began his career shooting commercials and worked as an assistant cameraman on the television series *Brigada* while still a student.

Vasyanov is known for his collaborations with director David Ayer on *End of Watch* (2012), *Fury* (2014), *Suicide Squad* (2016) and *Bright* (2017). He was also cinematographer on the Russian musical *Stilyagi* (2008, also known as *Hipsters*), for which he received a Golden Eagle Award nomination, and on films including *The East* (2013), *Charlie Countryman* (2013), *The Wall* (2017), *Thank You for Your Service* (2017) and *Triple Frontier* (2019). He became a member of the American Society of Cinematographers in 2022.
