## Biography

Rome Neal is an American actor and theatre director. His film credits include the Prisoner in *Malcolm X* (1992), the Garage Mechanic in *Nadja* (1994), Bed Stuy Man Interviewed in *Summer of Sam* (1999), Barnardo in *Hamlet* (2000) and Jake in *Piñero* (2001). He has also appeared in television series including *She's Gotta Have It* (2017–2019) and *Terror Lake Drive* (2023).

Neal has a long-standing association with the Nuyorican Poets Cafe in New York, where he has served as Artistic Theatre Director and chairman of the board. He received an Obie Grant with founder Miguel Algarín for excellence in theatre, along with multiple Audelco Awards for directing and acting.
