Ron Fricke is an American film director and cinematographer born on 24 February 1953. He is known for his work in time-lapse photography and large-format cinematography, particularly on non-narrative films.

Fricke served as cinematographer, editor and co-writer on Godfrey Reggio's *Koyaanisqatsi* (1982). He later directed and photographed the IMAX film *Chronos* (1985) and the feature *Baraka* (1992), for which he designed custom 65 mm camera equipment. His subsequent films include *Samsara* (2011). He has also contributed additional photography to *Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith* (2005) and *Megalopolis* (2024).
