## Biography

Ronald Reagan (1911–2004) was an American actor who appeared in more than fifty feature films. After working as a radio broadcaster in Iowa, he moved to Los Angeles in 1937 and made his screen debut in *Love Is on the Air* that year. His early roles included *Brother Rat* (1938) and *Knute Rockne, All American* (1940).

Reagan's performance as Drake McHugh in *Kings Row* (1942) is often cited among his strongest. He later hosted the television series *General Electric Theater* from 1954 to 1962 and served as president of the Screen Actors Guild. His films continued to appear in archive footage in later documentaries, including *An Inconvenient Truth* (2006).
